The song's an ode to tired and pandemic-weary parents everywhere with young kids at home. I wrote it last year when my holiday season malaise was so exquisitely amplified by the 9 months of lockdown that preceded it. I'm not much for the dead space between Christmas and that magical day when kids go back to school to begin with, so I did the only thing I could do: I embraced my inner Ebenezer and wrote this song.
I was too late for the 2020 holiday release window, but this year I got it together and sent it over to some very talented friends. That's Michael Jerome on drums, Phil Krohnengold playing the piano, Jerry Borge on the organ, Brad Gordon on the horns and Jon Flaugher on the bass.
Bryan Cook mixed it with love and Hans DeKline handled the mastering. And now, at long last, here it is for your holiday listening pleasure.
